  • Corps continues renovation work on medical facilities at Camp Zama

    Work continues on a $27 million medical/dental facility project on Camp Zama that will enhance medical care for military members, civilians and their families on the installation. The project, slated for completion by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Japan District in March 2016, will renovate the Brig. Gen. Crawford F. Sams U.S. Army Health Clinic and the U.S. Army Dental Activity Japan Clinic, also known on post as Building 704.
  • U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announces closure of all Regulatory offices due to federal government shutdown

    Beginning October 15, 2013, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Regulatory administrative appeals program will be shut down due to the absence of available federal appropriations. During the shutdown, administrative appeals officers will be unable to evaluate administrative appeals of jurisdictional determinations or permit decisions. Work on these actions will resume when administrative appeals officers return to work.
  • Corps begins work on $9.6 million school upgrade for military families at Yokota Air Force Base

    A $9.6 million project currently underway at Yokota Air Force Base, Japan, will provide children of military service members attending Joan K. Mendel Elementary School with a new state-of-the-art classroom facility, courtesy of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Japan District.
  • Corps of Engineers, Community Clean-up Fort DeRussy for National Public Lands Day

    More than 35 volunteers collected trash and debris at Fort DeRussy in Waikiki Sept. 21 in honor of National Public Lands Day. The Corps of Engineers’ Pacific Regional Visitor Center (RVC) coordinated the event that was supported by Corps employees and Punahou Junior ROTC cadets.
  • Cadet District Engineer Program offers a hands-on USACE experience

    The Honolulu District hosted two U.S. Army cadets this summer as part of the Cadet District Engineer Program (CDEP). This program allows ROTC and U.S. Military Academy cadets the opportunity to gain first-hand construction and engineering experience with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE).
  • Tonya Y. Bazemore named most promising Engineer

    Tonya Y. Bazemore, an Architect in QA Section with the Japan District Kanagawa Resident Office, was presented with the Most Promising Engineer award during a ceremony at the 2013 Black Engineer of The Year Feb 7 in Washington, D.C.
