Army Corps, Garrison open new barracks for Schofield's HHBN, 2nd Brigade Soldiers

Officials from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Army Garrison-Hawaii, and Absher Construction opened a new $35.3 million barracks with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Oct. 30. The new Unaccompanied Enlisted Personnel Housing on Montague Street (Schofield Barracks) will house Soldiers of Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, 25th Infantry Division (25th ID) and the 2nd Brigade.

U.S. Army Engineer monument unveiled near DMZ

Remembering those who fought in defense of Korea is something the Korean corporate members of the Association of the United States Army say they take very seriously, which is why they felt the need to build a monument to honor the Soldiers of the U.S. Army Engineer units who fought here.

Pilot engineers take Corps to new heights

The cockpit of a Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter isn’t a typical scene to find two unique civil engineers the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – Alaska District has to offer. The air above Southcentral Alaska is where Maj. Eric Marcellus and Capt. Robert Weakland spend time training as pilots in the Alaska Army National Guard’s 1st Battalion, 207th Aviation Regiment.

Volunteers build shed for Alaska Fisher House

Representatives from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – Alaska District; 2nd Engineer Brigade; 4th Brigade, 25th Infantry Division; and National Air Traffic Controllers Association partnered at the Fisher House of Alaska on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson to build the non-profit organization a much-needed storage shed.

Corps continues renovation work on medical facilities at Camp Zama

Work continues on a $27 million medical/dental facility project on Camp Zama that will enhance medical care for military members, civilians and their families on the installation. The project, slated for completion by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Japan District in March 2016, will renovate the Brig. Gen. Crawford F. Sams U.S. Army Health Clinic and the U.S. Army Dental Activity Japan Clinic, also known on post as Building 704.

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announces closure of all Regulatory offices due to federal government shutdown

Beginning October 15, 2013, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Regulatory administrative appeals program will be shut down due to the absence of available federal appropriations. During the shutdown, administrative appeals officers will be unable to evaluate administrative appeals of jurisdictional determinations or permit decisions. Work on these actions will resume when administrative appeals officers return to work.
