ANCHORAGE – Industry Day for small business and large business owners to network with industry professionals and form collaborative alliances with key government representatives will be held Mar. 21 at the Hotel Captain Cook. The event is sponsored by the Associated General Contractors with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the SBA, the SBDC and other federal and state agencies attending.
The purpose of the event is to strengthen partnerships with agencies and organizations. The conference is open to all small and large businesses, service disabled veteran owned small businesses, veteran owned small businesses, Section 8(a) small disadvantaged businesses, women owned small businesses, and Historically Underutilized Business Zone firms.
Morning sessions feature three U.S. Army Corps of Engineers speakers, Col. Reinhard W. Koenig, Alaska District commander; Dr. Larry McCallister, Programs and Project Management Division chief; and Christopher Tew, Contracting Division chief. Following an Agency Meet & Greet, a contractor’s panel will feature Davis Constructors and Engineers, Osborne Construction Company, Watterson Construction, Kiewit Building Group, Neeser Construction, Inc. and Unit Company.
Other sessions include “Post Award Contractor Responsibilities”, “How to Use Your Legal Team to Avoid Litigation” and two Small Business Administration presentations.
