Is there work for US firms in Japan and Korea?

Due to the Status of Forces Agreements (SOFAs) in those countries, construction requirements are limited to being awarded to “Local Sources” only, for construction of MILCON and SRM (Sustainment, Restoration Modernization) workload, with the exception of Secured Confined Industrial Facility (SCIF) requirements.  “Local Sources” are those sources physically located and licensed to conduct business, and paying taxes in those countries.

The SOFAs allow, in some cases, services such as Architectural and Engineering services, to be performed by U.S. firms.
