USACE supports PACOM Humanitarian Assistance Program in Vietnam
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was conducted for ten pedestrian bridges constructed under the U.S. Pacific Command's Humanitarian Assistance Program. These reinforced concrete bridges replace the old bamboo bridges and will greatly improve the living conditions and safety of the Vietnam citizens in rural and remote regions. The Alaska District and Pacific Ocean Division, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers managed the design and construction of the bridges with help from local contractors.
