SASEBO, Japan (March 15, 2013) - The Japan District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers together with U.S. Naval Forces Japan, Amphibious Force 7th Fleet, and national and local Japanese dignitaries celebrated the completion of Yokose Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC) Maintenance Facility at a ribbon cutting ceremony.  Construction of the LCAC Maintenance Facility began in 2004 and consists of 60,000 square meters of reclaimed land.

U.S. ARMY GARRISON-HUMPHREYS, Republic of Korea (March 6, 2013) - The first families are moving into the Army Family Housing Towers at U.S. Army Garrison-Humphreys. The construction of the family housing facilities was managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – Far East District.  The housing towers are part of a larger transformation construction project that will consolidate U.S. military units into two enduring hubs south of Seoul.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers-Pacific Ocean Division contributes significantly to the peace and security in the Pacific region through the execution of a multi-billion dollar construction program for U.S. Forces in the Republic of Korea. Two big programs being executed in the Republic of Korea are the Yongsan Relocation Program and the Land Partnership Plan.

An Su-ok and Chin Bok-kyun served in the Korean Service Corps during the Korean War.  They both were the guests of honor during the ribbon cutting ceremony for the new humidity controlled warehouse at Camp Carroll Feb. 10.

The new humidity controlled warehouse at Camp Carroll will be used by the Korean Service Corps who support the U.S. Army Field Support Battalion, Northeast Asia.

Vehicles are lined up for display during the ribbon cutting ceremony for the new humidity controlled warehouse at Camp Carroll Feb. 10.  The new facility built by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Far East District will be able to house 750 vehicles at full capacity.
